Doreen's Story
I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. I was always the one running out with the betadine and band aids when someone got a cut, scrape or scratch. As it turns out, they were right, I am a damn great nurse.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is my dad, because God, I miss him. I feel I could have learned so much from him. He was younger than I am now, when he passed away from Leukemia. RIP. DAD. I love you.
There are times when what you decide to do in your life may not be liked or approved of by your family but, if you aren't hurting anyone else, GO FOR IT. If your family truly loves you, they will get over it. If not, oh well, life goes on.

age now would be settled in life, and have Brady Bunch families. I was so completely WRONG. LOL.
To go back to nursing school and get my R.N. degree. I went to nursing school for my family,(my husband at the time, but mostly for my kids.)I want to be a Registered Nurse, FOR ME.
My best friend would tell you I'm a caring, giving, trustworthy person, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as.......frankly, I don't really care what other people think!!!!!
Surprisingly, old friends that I have regained contact with have said that they remember me as sweet, kind, and very strong. HMMMMMM. It is funny how we sometimes do not see what others see in us.
If I knew then what I know now, I would have gone to college first. Marriage and children second. But it's all good.
