e Director of the Giacomo Puccini Research Center in Lucca, Italy, I also get to hang out in Tuscany several times a year.
In 1979 I married Bonnie Buettner and became stepfather to Peter and Jan, who have two children each (so far). We also sponsor a girl at Santo Domingo Pueblo near Santa Fe through Futures for Children. Bonnie just retired as Senior Lecturer in German at Cornell. We enjoy gourmet cooking and wine, chamber music and opera, travel, and spend much of our time between semesters living in Berlin. We miss the beach.
