Joel's Story

I was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. I started school at St John's Episcopal Church my first year then went to Bellingrath from 2nd to 9th grade. I started at Lanier in '63. After graduation from Lanier High School in '66 I attended Marion Military Institute, then The University of Alabama (Education, 1971). I served in the US Army (Armor Branch) for 10 years (71-81) in Germany, Georgia, and Detroit, then left to attend the University of Michigan (MBA...Expand for more
- 1983). After that I started a civilian career in computer software. I worked for Baxter Healthcare (Chicago), Baxter Australia (Sydney), ASK Computer Systems (Sydney), Computer Associates (Minneapolis), JD Edwards, Peoplesoft, Oracle, Lawson Software, then Infor (lots of acquisitions back then), retiring in St Paul, MN, in 2012. I enjoy travel, flying, working on classic cars, and taking advantage of all the cultural activities available in the Twin Cities.

Traffic circle coming on to the island from Clearwater City. Usually the greatest traffic inhibitor on the island.
South Beach, where a lot of the partying happens. Also across from the big hotels.
