Guilford's Story
Life
After leaving Riverside Military Academy I recovered from getting most of my teeth knocked out in that accident which occured during the picture taking formation in Florida. Some of you former RAT'S might remember that day. Anyway, I finished my high school career at North Springs High School in North Atlanta then went to Kennesaw College. In late 1975 I joined the U.S. Army. entering the missle defense program and was stationed at Ft. Bliss, Texas. After being honorably discharged I went back to college to work on my degree in Political Science and worked several odd jobs along the way.
By the begining of the 1980's I went into the resort timesharing business where I spent most of the decade first in sales and then in managment. During that time I lived in Falls Church, Va. But by the begining of the 90's I was sick of what I was doing for a living...Expand for more
and started looking for something else. After returing to Atlanta by chance and old high school friend told me about karaoke and got me to go to a show one night. I was so taken with it that within the next few months I became a karaoke jock and then this led to becoming an owner- forming my own company, Karaoke Express Of Georgia, in 1993. Since then, it's grown to become one of the largest most award winning companies in the state. Along with this, I started writing and producing music demo's for some of my friends and currently have an album on the market called RETRO : BACK TO BACK which was released in 1999. Another that I'm working on and producing will be released in 2003.
In 1996 I got married for the first time and my wife Janet and I live in Smyrna, Georgia along with our two English Springer Spaniels ( Tyler and Mollie ) and our cat (Babbette).
