Gurney's Story
I moved to the desert because there is a specialist here that knows all about ski injuries ,a rouge snow boarder cut my quadracept muscle in two places., and the muscles had to be screwed to the bone It took two years to be able to walk normally. Can't ski again until next season.. The skiing down here is not as good as N.California, but some snow better than no snow. When I do ski again I'm headed for Kirkwood or Alpine Meadows, most snow down here is blown snow., although blown snow is almost as good as real snow, but somehow it doesn't seem real with dirt on both sides of you . My son and I built a ski cabin at, Big Bear so I get to coach my 3 grandsons and hang out in the Pub,. 10 hours to Tahoe was a real grind, We can get to Big Bear in 2 hours but I'll be back on skis again, I hope in Northern CA.
