School Life !!! Well that was a long time ago. I had a pretty good time at Western Guilford in the 80s. My height and weight limited me to mainly wrestling and 1 year of football..LOL. Ill still wrestle anyone under 200 lbs for $20.00. Thats how I supported myself at ECU. Thank you Dad for that 2 and half year vacation LOL. I mostly remember hanging out at Big Star and Hardees in my Oldsmobile Cutlass (2 miles per gallon). I miss Friday night football games and rectangle pizza in the cafeteria.
Personal Life Things certainly changed in the Badgett family. What a reality show that would be!! I got rid of that first wife in 99. Thank the Lord. I remarried in June of 2005 to a wonderful woman of 3 girls and I have 2 boys. One shy of the Brady bunch !! The Badgett Bunch comes out on CBS in the fall. I had been coaching a boys basketball team for the last few years but stepped down prior to getting married last year. Job description ?? Not a whole lot of excitement there. I sit a desk and troubleshoot Data and Analog circuits for Verizon Business (formerly MCI, formerly WorldCom) Who knows next week !!! I've been here since 2000 and still waiting for Gary Williams (Maryland) to give me a spot on the bench or AXL (Guns and Roses) to call me to fill in for him when he doesn't want to show up.
Military
I joined the US Navy in 1991 -- Lord knows I needed the Discipline. I spent 8 years in the Navy with my first 4 years pretty much in Japan - USS Germantown. I've seen places and thing many will never see. Oh I miss Australia... I'ne been to Hong Kong, Phillipines, Indonesia, Australia, and Iwo Jima. The next 4 years were just as cool. I was part of the Naval Space Command - JTAGS Unit. I spent time traveling back forth to Germany and Korea. Oh I miss Germany... good beer, good food, and good...well I'll stop there. I'm not a military minded kind of person but it sure did help me a lot. I'd still rather have long hair and rockin somewhere...peace out people!!!
