Guy's Story

Life, American Graffitti - I lived and breathed it. (so did you). I worked at my dad's Amoco station throughout high school but on January 17th, 1970 I met and fell in love with a girl by the name of Connie Robertson. - Whom I still think of to this day. Sadly I was told that she had passed away January 31, 2019. I was devastated.... Anyway... my career was (is) as follows, 1973-1974...International Harvester, East Moline, IL with Mike Williams 1974-1976...Unemployed collecting unemployment $ Cruising the nation in my '67 Caprice 1976-1978...Fel-Pro Gasket Co, Skokie,IL 1978-1980...Jack's Standard, Evanston, IL 1980-1985...Jack's Muffler Man, Evanston, IL (as employee) 1985-1995...Jack's Muffler Man (Owner) 1995-1996...Retired at 40! (yeah!) made it 9 months, wife says must go back to work & get out of the house. 1997-1999...Presbyterian Church, Northbrook, IL (Director of Buildings and Grounds)had enough church! 1999-2006...Bredemann Ford, Glenview, IL,. (Paul Ipjian Stole my career and now lives off the fruits of my labors) 2006-2007 Now I Own a little Insurance company (Recently Sold) 2008- Employed by Costco Wholesale Married Leslie Hubble ('72 New Trier E) in 1981 at age of 26, at the age of 28 I bought my house in Northbrook, IL and at age 30 had daughter #1 and also bought my first store, then two years later daughter # 2 and bought my second store(phew!) then worked my tail off and tried to redevelop my corner into a privately owned fast food drive thru, Evanston voted me down on the last vote 5-4 so I retired at the age of 40 (1995) Sold the business and rented out my 2 buildings but 9 months later my mrs. (who is a licensed day care provider in our home) says, Guy you get the kids all worked up and they won't nap...why don't you go out and "do something!" so I helped out at our church and that quickly became a full time job!... untill I packed an entire lifetime of not goin' to church into the 3 1/2 years that I was there! ---That's enough for me!! So I decided to go back to the automotive trade... but this time on the cleaner end of it: selling & leasing, while learning the Insurance industy... which I Did move into in November of 2006... Sadly, my Dad died Nov.7, 2002 & Mom died April 5, 2003, all three of my brothers are sill alive, and they are all married... Mike - no kids, Scott has four kids!, Byron - no kids.
