Guy's Story
After I graduated Cleveland High I attended Forest Park Community College, then Harris Teachers College and finally went on to get my B.A. in Psychology and my Masters in Counseling and Student Personnel at MIZZOU. Loved MIZZOU and Columbia and wound up working there for 13 years in Student Activities and Student Affairs; including overseeing the building on an addition to Brady Commons ( for those of you who are Tiger alums). Then went to the University of Nebraska at Omaha to be the Director of the Student Center there for 12 years where I oversaw a significant building expansion and renovation. While in Omaha met my wife Jody who I have now been married to for 22 years. Then in 2000 we moved to Tampa Florida when I came to the University of South Florida so I could build a brand new $65 million Student Center, which has become the pride of the campus. romoted to Asst. Vice President of Student Affairs and currently oversee the Student Center, Veteran Services, Student Disability Services, Communications and Marketing, Conferencing and the student newspaper. Jody is also at USF and is a Senior Director in the College of Undergraduate Students. No children but we do have a great cat named SOPHIE and lots of nieces and nephews. Jody and I love to travel ( been to London, Dublin, Paris, Amsterdam, Rome, etc.), love to go on cruises ( I think its 14 now and considering we just started about 8 years ago that's more than one a year). And we recently became certified barbeque judges. I am 66 this FALL and hope to be retiring in the next year or so ( Jody is quite a bit younger and part of my retirement plan is to keep her working for a while ). Since we already live in Florida we don't have to move when we retire. Smart thinking right?
