Guy's Story
After Monroe, I went to UCLA for my degree in math/physics. I kept busy working at the UCLA Institute of Geophysics while at UCLA and the Panorama Theatre most nights and weekends. I met my wife, Judy, at the theatre. Judy, San Fernando S64, and I married in1966.
I worked in aeropace for five years, then became co-owner of a tiny software company (two of us) in 1971, which grew to 50. In the meantime, Judy and I had two children, and finally in 2006, grandchildren started coming, along with retirement - thank God for both!
We lived in Ventura County for almost forty years, over thirty of them on our mini-farm in Santa Rosa Valley. My son and I built a second home on our property for my parents where they lived for nineteen years. In 2007, we moved to be with our son's family ( three grandsons) and we all ended ...Expand for more
up in little Fallbrook-Bonsall in north San Diego County. Again, it is a rural area where we are happiest.
At UCLA, I was too busy working, commuting and studying to make many friends. Those came at work. Truthfully, I never really liked UCLA, although I did well enough. I did appreciate learning programming on their first computers as part of my student job in the Geophysics Department. That gave me a head start upon graduation.
Judy and I have been blessed with 58 years of marriage and the experience of decades of life with our two children and our parents. Spending time together with our families, as much as possible in the outdoors in a variety of places, was our goal in life. We have been fortunate.
I would love to hear from anyone, if there is anyone, that remembers me and those unique times at Monroe.
