Gwendolyn's Story
Life
After graduation I attended Lycoming College, Williamsport, PA majoring in American Studies. Played flute in the band, and met Ray, whom I married a week after graduation in 1971.
Moved to eastern Long Island, where Ray worked in the family propane business. We have one son, Scott, age 30, now a graphic designer / Production Manager at a weekly newspaper. He recently married - September 19, 2009.
Ray retired October of 2001, and we now live the winter 6 months on Hilton Head Island and the summer 6 months on eastern Long Island. We travel back and forth with our two black cat littermates, Phantom and Shadow. (Edit: Phantom died November 29, 2006 - and now Shadow died, December 1, 2010. I still miss them so much). We now have two new black and white tuxedo litter mate kitties adopted on January 7, 2011 from the Hilton Head Humane Association - and we now love them so much!
Interests: I still play the flute and took 6 years of additional lessons (and playing in a flute ensemble) while Scott was growing up. I now play mainly in church choir anthems, and in accompanied solos. I do an occasional wedding or...Expand for more
two. I sing in the choir as well.
I also enjoy the internet and online activities, including Facebook - and have met a few wonderful friends that way. I recently picked up digital photography and have a Flickr online gallery of photos - mainly nature, some family under the screen name of "sweetmeow". It's beginning to be a more serious hobby, as I purchased a Canon Rebel Xsi September, '08.
I write for fun, and yes, I do have a blog at Live Journal - also under the name of sweetmeow. It's "friends only - only for other Live Journal members of my choice. Join Live Journal - identify yourself to me, and be on my reading list. EDIT: I now have a public blog on wordpress - under the name of "sweetmeow"
I also used to edit our church's newsletter before we traveled so much
Outside activities: I used to downhill ski, but that went by the wayside when I tore the cartilage in my knee. Now it's golf, which I like ... sorta. However, I'm not so good at it.
Had a mini reunion with Connie Henderson Rosenberry and Bev Spiece June, 2005 in PA. Meeting so many on Facebook!
I'll edit this as I think of other stuff...
