Haidi Appel:

CLASS OF 1979
El paso, TX

Haidi's Story

After CHS, I spent a year in Israel and then went to UTEP. I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree from UTEP. We got married in 1982 and have three fabulous children. I taught at Western Hills and Morehead and interned for one week at Coronado. I am currently the principal at Mitzi Bond Elementary School here in El Paso. Our three children all graduated from Coronado and are being successful in their lives. My school is part of a very special network, the "No Excuses University" network. We are one of only 30 schools in the US and only 2 in Texas. It is a great program. We are all about ALL students knowing...Expand for more
that if they chose, they are prepared for college and can go to college. I need your help. If you live outside of El Paso and can get me a college pennant or banner that can be used to decorate our school it would be greatly appreciated. Each class adopts a school and works to build a partnership. If you can get these items (or kid sized t-shirts - we wear college shirts every Monday and some kids can't afford them) you can mail them to the school. Our address is: Mitzi Bond Elementary School, 250 Lindbergh, El Paso, TX 79932. (We are located across the street from Aceitunas.) Thanks for trying to help us.
