Robert's Story
Life
We moved to Murrieta, CA in September 2002. After 16+ years, I still like it here. It gets hot, but I can deal with that! (-:
Update 5-2015: On Nov 19,2008, I was hired by Cardinal Health, Changed to CareFusion, Bought out by BD (March 2015)) Still there after ten years and all is going well...
My #1 Son, Bobby and his wife have two kids living near us. His oldest, is going to Cal State Pomona.
My #2 Son, Justin lives in Portland Oregon.
My #3 son, Aaron, hurt his back in Iraq, forced to retire from the Air Force and lives in Roy Utah with his wife and 5 kids. And is now working at Hill AFB.
And my #4 son, Dereck, and his wife have three kids and is a SSGT in the Air Force.
My #5 son, Brett and his wife and two kids just bought a house about ten miles from us...
We now have 14 grand kids. 8 Boys and 6 Girls.
And four motorcycles...;)
As you can see by my photos, I'm a motorcycle nut. Not the "Live to Ride" type, but I do a lot of riding.

College
I avoided college for as long as I could. Finally went to West Coast U in LA in August 1982. My company paid my way and I even collected my GI Bill to boot!..;-) It took me six years to get my BS degree in CS, going half time, but it was worth it.
Military
I spent 10 years (August 1970 - August 1980) in the Air Force. I was first stationed at Los Angeles Air Force Station (Jan 71 - Apr 74 - Now Air Force Base - Located in El Segundo - one mile south of LAX) I then got out, got married and went back in and was stationed at Mather AFB, Near Sacramento CA (July 74 - Dec 75). n 79). My last base was England AFB, LA (Feb 79 - Aug 80) I got out after 9 years 9 months. After getting a degree in Computer Science, I thought about going back in as an officer. Sometimes, I wished I had. A little retirement money would come in handy about now.
If I'm lucky, I'll be retiring around the time I'm 71! We'll see!
September 2016 - Just completed a motorcycle ride of 4,500 miles with my brother. We left Murrieta on the 19th of August and returned on the 4th of September. We rode to Yellowstone, Beartooth Pass, Custer/Little Big Horn Battlefield, Devil's Tower, Deadwood SD (Wild Bill Hickok's grave), Mt Rushmore, Carhenge, Pike's Peak, Spend a week with 135 other motorcyclists in Grand Junction, Goblin Valley, Bryce NP, Zion NP, Hoover Dam & bridge and London Bridge in Lake Havasu City! Had a blast. And NO tickets nor spills!
In 2018, My wife and I bought a 1/2 acre of land in Cedar City Utah. we hope to build a house on it in about 3 years and move out there once we retire.
Update: 7-20-2020: We have sold our house in Murrieta and will be renting in the area until December. Our new house in Cedar City, should be ready for us by November. Chris gets to retire and I'll keep working (from home) for as long as they will let me. ;)
Update 4-30-2021: We moved into our new house in Cedar City on January 20, 2021. We love it up here. Two weeks after moving here, I was laid off from the company I had been working for, for over 12 years. They changed my title and work requirements, which I was not qualified to do, and therefore decided they no longer needed a guy 20 years senior than anyone else! Such is life, so I'm now retired and we'll see if I stay that way! ;)
