Laura Hanan:  

whom she is as a person - a loving, giving, and principled young woman. I am proud of my accomplishments but my greatest experience and privilege, hands-down, is being my daughter's mother. My husband, Marty Fehl, is also an artist and we live in my building where we have a gallery, our studios, and a frame shop. I have a BA in journalism, a BS in conservation of natural resources, and an AA in commercial art. In my younger years I worked as a newspaper reporter, editor, and a senior technical writer, and in 2005 I worked for a year as a tech writer for a local software company as the primary writer on a multi-million dollar Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) contract. The project - researching and demonstrating the use of mobile object computer technology for improved data communications in the next generation National Airspace System (NAS) - was done in response to 911 in an attempt to improve the safety of NAS. My artwork is included in national, international, private, and corporate collections of the Pierce County Peninsula Branch Library, State Farm Insurance, Topia Technology software development company, and John Madden, the colorful commentator for the National Football League. I have received several local art awards and my biographical profile is included in the (merit-based) 2002-2012 editions of Who’s Who in American Art, Who's Who in America, Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who in the World, and Who’s Who in Finance and Industry.
