Harold's Story
Born and raised in Chicago, went to Froebel elementary grade school then to Harrison technical high school and since I had nothing better to do, went to U of I at Urbana, Illinois.
Out of school, I went to work for Illinois Power Company in Galesburg, Illinois, then took a job with Roberts & Schaefer Company in downtown Chicago and worked for them for 14 years. It was a great experience and learned a lot about my trade, Electrical Engineering. Spent a short time with Austin Company until I got tired of the "big city life" and moved to Mount Vernon, Indiana and 5 minutes from work. Working for John Brown Company and then Quality Execution, Inc. Did electrical design work for just about every type of industrial/ commercial plant out there. then decided to go contract and came back to Chicago long enough to clear ...Expand for more
all debts and go cash only like Dave Ramsey. Retired now and can't see going back to work.
Can't say that I don't have anything to do now....catching up on all those things I wanted to do but didn't have the time and loving every minute of it. Sometimes I wonder how I did what I did and worked too.
Couldn't do that now.
Working on my "Bucket List" now.
Update- apparently my bucket list has a hole in it. Can't seem to get out and tour the USA as anticipated due to working on my house. Had a great house in Mount Vernon, Indiana. Spent 27 years getting just like I wanted and my wife decided we should downsize. So, for the last three years I've been trying to cram 27 years of modifications into the house. But I think, 2020 is the year! Or else I'm getting rid of the wife of 51 years....she better be worried.
