Harold's Story
God's been good...
I always wanted to be an electrical engineer. My family (such as it was) were ok with it and I became one (BSEE UCSB 1978/MSEE SCU 2008). Your life may of been impacted by a product I designed. Ever use an ATM machine? Ever roam with your cellphone? Use a credit card? Trade on the New York Stock Exchange? Products I designed directly affected these daily life activities. How cool is that? Ok, I always was a nerd.
I relax by reading the Bible and taking long walks (usually at the home in CO where I can marvel at the Rocky Mountains). I wasn't all that wild in school. I have never had a job I didn't like. Probably Gideon is my hero. He had to be shown what he was good at. We have lived in Walnut Park, Santa Barbara, Sunnyvale, and Fort Collins, CO. Diff...Expand for more
erent jobs and schooling (grad school) took us different places. I went for action sports like mountain biking and sports car racing. My biggest surprise was achieving career milestones early. You will have to find me to hear about the titles I have held. Having three children has been a humbling experience. That's one girl followed by two boys for those of you that want the count of three explained.
My favorite all time teacher was Bonnie Levin/AP History in High School followed by Roger Wood in undergrad electrical engineering at UCSB. The dorm experience at UCSB was really good for me (maybe not my liver). I still dress in blue jeans most days and 5.11 tactical shirts in Colorado unless I'm with a customer.
That photo is me with my beloved first child---Tiffany Ann.
