Harriet Hester Johnson (Myers Park 1959)
After graduating from Duke in 1963 and teaching school in Atlanta for 1 year with Sara Jane Ison Grentzer (1959) , I married my college sweetheart, S. Howes Johnson (Duke 1962) and moved to Kentucky. We spent three years in Lexington, KY and one in Dallas, Texas while he got his Law degrees and I got an MA in Reading Research at SMU in 1968. Then we moved to Paintsville, Ky (his hometown and Loretta Lynn's !!!) where he practiced Oil, Gas, Coal, Tax and Corporate Law and I work...Expand for more
ed as a Remedial Reading Supervisor until our daughter, Jan, was born in 1971.
We spent the next 31 years raising Jan, going to UK football and some basketball games, playing golf,rooting for Duke basketball, traveling and enjoying life and each other until his untimely death in 2002.
Now I enjoy my two grandchildren, Billy Joe, 7, and Lauren, 3, play Bridge several times a week,play golf every day the weather permits, work out at Curves every day, still root for UK and Duke, travel and try to make the most of every day!!!
