I was so fortunate to be a part of those teams along with some great coaches and teammates, some of whom became friends for life. My best friend, Tim Haentjens, and I played together at Sac in 1968. College I put all my college info under "school" so I guess my school comments have to go here. I left a bad situation in Berkeley in 1962 and Walnut Creek (Del ...Expand for more
Valle) was the move I needed. I feel blessed that I had 4 years at Del Valle; had excellent teachers, (one scary one), Marv Comstock was my next door neighbor, and made friends that I still have contact with: Doug Frediani has been a great friend over the years; and Tim Haentjens and I duck hunt every fall and have been close since highschool. Workplace Hired by Fremont Unified School District 1972 to teach P.E., Art, and coach. I was a three sport coach for 3 years and stuck with just football for the next 28; I had coaching stops at Sac. State, Chabot College, Washington HS, Mission san Jose HS, American HS, and Foothill HS in Pleasanton. My teaching has included instructing every art class possible at both the middle and high school. Martial Arts became a passion in the 80's and early 90's and I was able to teach it for many years at all grade levels.I retired from the Martial Arts and coaching in 2002 .Retired from teaching after 43 years; last 20 as a History of Film instructor. Our granddaughter, Taylor, was born June 15,2007 and is a beautiful strawberry blond who looks alot like her daddy. Luke came along in 2011.
