Harry's Story
Hello DuVal Class of '70!
After high school, I attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, entering in 1970 as an engineering major at Case Tech and graduating in 1974 with a BA in Psychology from Western Reserve. So with the assistance of several kind CWRU professors, I was accepted into the doctoral program of the Department of Biology at Yale University. What a transition, but I'd found my passion. I really enjoy both teaching and research. Since 1981, my research has focused on the evolutionary adaptation of Antarctic fish to the extremely cold waters of the Southern Ocean and how they will be impacted by our warming climate. I have led more than 20 research expeditions to Palmer Station, Antarctica, and have sailed extensively along the Antarctic Peninsula on board the research vessel/icebreaker Laurence M. Gould. You can read more about my research on my MSC web page. (Classmates won't let me post the URL.) Check out YouTube for my Expedition Antarctica Videos that provide an overview of some of my current work (ditto on posting the URL).
Other than Classmates, I don't use social media. But I am looking forward to hearing from you!
