Harvey's Story
Left Houston after high school, went to college in Tennessee, went to seminary in Alexandria, Virginia but did not finnish. Became a child abuse protective services social worker in Kansas City area, then got Master's in Social Work and Ph.D. in Education. Have worked mainly in mental health & substance abuse fields of social work. Last 12 years, I was a statistician for the state Medicaid agency. I taught research and statistics for the School of Social Welfare at the University of Kansas, Friends University and supervise social work practicum students for KU, Denver U, Our Lady of the Lake, and Kansas State. Post retirement I work two days per week since 2013 for CKF Addiction Treatment.org in Salina and I lately do it most by tele-medicine. I enjoy golf (which I lettered in at Reagan, but was a non-athlete manager/trianer for Football and Basketball). I am a Shriner, no longer an active Scouter (COPE instructor and NRA certified fire-arms marks...Expand for more
manship instructor). I no longer play cello (as I did in Reagan orchestra) but have inheritied my dad's guitars so I am making the transition to guitar now. I have been a priest for the Diocese of Western Kansas at St. Michael's in Hays, and at St. Andrew's north of Hays. If you are in need of sleep and don't want to count sheep, I have homilies (Episcopalians don't do long sermons) listed at the website stmichaelshays.org My wife has macular degeneration, so we are doing what we can for that! Praying for some improvement.
.
Our oldest son is a data analyst for Cerner Corp in Kansas City, and our youngest son is an Engineer at the Johnson Space Center, so we still come to Houston occassionally.
I'm a fairly savy computer user, but don't spend much energy with Facebook.
Life has been a blessing.......I realy am grateful.....If we move to Houston later this year (2020) I will try to get back in the groove of visiting the Reagan "get-togethers."
