Patty's Story
I haven't updated this in a while. Well, in March 2010, we found out we'd have to pay almost a thousand dollars for our daughter to go to New York City with the high school orchestra. Being that we live on a fixed income, we end up asking my parents for help with big expenses. And I'm tired of doing that. They paid for our oldest daughter's band trips all four years. So, we decided to use Jerry's (class of '86) skills with carpentry and sell birdhouses. When the price for the trip was raised to the almost-thousand, I started selling my photographs. And now that we raised the money for the trip (she went in March 2011 and had a blast!), I still sell my photos. I have an etsy shop and it's making enough money to pay for itself and so far, I've gotten a few bucks to use here and there. But, one of my photos hangs in a local Denny's Restaurant and some of my photos are being used in a slideshow for a local "art wa...Expand for more
lk". If you want to see it, just Google "Pahz Photography" and you'll find either the Facebook page or the etsy store. And I'm still using skills I learned in Mrs. Richmond's class. A class I took in my junior year with Jerry.
So, I finally became a "real" artist. Just not in the way I thought I would.
In 2013, I became an official photographer at the Bristol Renaissance Faire (Kenosha, WI), A Gathering of Rogues & Ruffians (New Glarus, WI), along with the Janesville Renaissance Faire (Janesville, WI). While I'm not "official" with the faire, I am official with the cast, who are from Bristol- at the Stronghold Olde English Faire (Oregon, IL). And I have the same officially unofficial status with the cast at TeslaCon, a Steampunk convention (Madison, WI). I've had my faire photos on countless websites, different local newscasts, calendars, newspapers, and even a couple of billboards. Photography is awesome.
