George's Story
Life
Wow.....where do you begin....so much has passed in so little time.....Things have been good, bad, great and terrible.......but I guess that's the way life is suppose to be......But through it all...always trying to keep a "Positive" attitude...
After the good ole' days at BH.....went on to CCRI for a while....Was taken courses hoping to enter the Accounting Field.....But had a sudden change of heart......decided that I was not cut out to spend my days sitting at a desk "pushing" a pencil......so we shifted gears and moved into the area of Machining.....in which I spent the better part of 17 years......and of course going back to CCRI to take some Engineering courses.....But the machining industry was slowly dying off...and I felt it was time for a "career" change.....so we went to Trade School and we got our Certifications in Automotive Technology...............Which after doing 5 years of "Appenticeship" Field work.....We opened our own Auto Repair Facility....In which we "Specilized" in Automotive Electrical Diagnosis and Repair......
And that was great...... I really enjoyed doing that......But..Like they say...all good things must come to an end....so we decided to move on to our Third Major Career Change........and that was to take on the Open Road...behing the wheel of an 18 wheeler.....I went and took all my Tests and got my Class A CDL............And now I travel around this Big Country of ours.....bringing good things to people....
Oh...have not lost the "Business" sense.....I own my own truck which is leased on to a company out of Minnesota.....so now we are up to date with pretty much where my work History has taken me....
and for all who knew back then.........YES.... I still..spend my spare time Rockin' out on my Guitars.........as it was back in School.... I have played in many local bands....and have still enjoyed my music as much now as I did back then.....But never thought about doing it on a "Professional" level.......... I just seem to enjo...Expand for more
y more knowing that I can do it when I want.......
And now........about My life.......Well during my College Days...while playing a local college band.... I met this girl......and we dated for almost 2 years......we ended up getting Married...and we Had 3 kids....2 girls and 1 boy..........but unfortunately marriage did not last......Then about 3 years after the divorce I met.. this other girl...and we started dating...and after 2 years.. we were married and we have 1 girl..........it's been strange.....
Then In 2004....On a cold January day...we loaded up a Uhaul Truck and moved from RI to North Carolina............someplace where I had always wanted to live.........the opportunity was there and I took it...and I am loving it..........What a great place.........
So now I live in this Little town about 35 miles east of Raliegh NC.... we own a nice home....just up the street from my daughters school...and close enough to all the things that we need...but yet far enough that we still have that "Down Home Country" feel to it...
So when I am not traveling around the Highways.... I spend my time around my house playing B-Ball with my Daughter and her Friends...or Riding My Harley....... or Playing my Guitar....or just firing up the grill....and putting around the yard.............
Do I miss BH.........Yes..... Best 4 years I think I ever had....
We had some great moments...........Best Friends.......and some incredible times.....................
Ok.... Latest Life Update, In 2010 I decided to leave the trucking industry after 6 plus years on the road had seen enough....... so we came back to NC and threw in the towel.... and, then the bottom fell out, and watched a lot of things go away, including the wife... so we are now 60 and single.... living in a small apartment in smithfield,nc and working part time at our local music store and teaching guitar..... and enjoying my life!!!!
