Heather's Story
Life
Hey, has it really been twenty-five years? I know I don't look a day older, how about you?
Here is what I've been up to since 1981 (not every detail of course...)
I currently live in Goshen with my husband Allan Edwards and our three children . Our oldest son, Parker, will be 16 yrs old this year, our daughter Greer is 13 yrs old and our youngest son Will is 10 yrs old. Allan has been employed at Clermont County for the past 20 plus years and it is very likely he will retire before I go to work. (haha) He currently holds a position as an Assistant Prosecutor in our county- I know it surprises people that I married a wingtip shoe man, but he is perfect for me.
After high school I attended the University of Cincinnati for about a year until I ran out of funding. My parents were of the opinion that to really appreciate my education I should pay for all of it myself-hmmm. I worked various low paying jobs trying to save enough money to return to UC full time. Then my mother decided I should be a medical assistant- I thought the pay had to be better than minimum wage.
So, that is what I did. I worked during the day and took cl...Expand for more
asses in the evening. (I did that for 10 years!) I met my husband, we were married in 1987, had children and I became a stay at home mom until 2003. At the mature age of 40, I decided it was time to finish my degree. I currently work at Good Samaritan Hosptial in the cardiolvascular department and attend UC full time. (Hey! That medical assisting thing did help me pay for college after all.) I will graduate in June (2007). My degree will be in Special Education- Mild to Moderate disabilities (Grades K-12). I will also complete my studies in Deaf Culture and ASL.
I continue to be interested in the arts, but find more pleasure in the backstage production than the on stage performances. I am interested in becoming involved with Deaf theater productions after graduation and I also express my creative side through photography, interior design and sewing (my Halloween costumes that I have created for others have won several awards my favorite was of a Chinese Carryout Container) I also support Habitat for Humanity, Breast Cancer Awarenss (Patty P. you are an inspiration) and Ovarian Cancer Awareness.
Still a flower child at heart- Heather
