Heather's Story
Life
I got married in 2001 to a wonderful redhead named Brad Miller. He is in the navy and works on aircraft carriers. He is from TN and I met him during my senior year of college where he was stationed on the USS Enterprise. We have two healthy and very active boys named Ethan and Jackson.
I currently live in the Seattle area of Washington. We moved here 2 1/2 years ago. This August we are moving back to Virginia Beach where Brad will be stationed on the USS Truman in Norfolk for another round of sea duty. We came over here for his shore duty.
My mom still lives in Virginia Beach and my brother, Lee, lives in Richmond with his wife where they are expecting their first baby next month.
College
I graduated from Longwood College in December 2000 with a B.S. I played Women's Lacrosse all 4 years of college. I was captain my senior year and recieved a scholarship. I majored in Liberal Studies/Elementary Education.
Workplace
After my college graduation I worked in the Virginia Beach school system...Expand for more
for 3 years and coached a highschool lacrosse team at the same time. After my second was born I took a break from teaching and stayed home with my two boys. In June of 2005 I got nation-wide certified as a fitness instructor. I enjoy the exercise and helping clients feel better about themselves. In a few years when my boys are older I plan to get a personal trainer certification (still keeping my fitness instructor certification), and go back to school to get my masters in either the fitness or education field.
Military
My husband is in the Navy and is going on his 10 year mark. He plans on going for the full 20 years! After I became a military wife in 2001, he finished out his sea duty on the USS Enterprise in Norfolk. When his shore duty started in 2004, we got transfered to the Bangor Base in the state of Washington in January where we have been living for the past two years. This August we are moving back to Virginia Beach where he will be assigned to the USS Truman to start another round of sea duty.
