Heather's Story
I left Gulf Breeze in 1994 after Marcus finished flight school . We married in Oregon, which was his first duty station. He flew helo's (65-dolphin)for the Coast Guard doing search and rescue for 4 years. Victoria was born out there in 1995. We moved to Tampa, FL in 1997 and had Zoe in 1999. Marcus was still flying helo's there(H-60's), but deployed for 90 days at a time and home 30. We moved to Jacksonville in 2001 and Marcus started flying the A-109. We had planned to have a child at each of the duty stations, but God had other plans. We moved to Oregon again in 2005 and built our dream retirement home. 4000 sq feet over looking the pacific with an uper and lower deck. By the time the house was complete the girls who had only know the sunny days of Florida were sick of the rain and begging to leave. onths before him and headed back to Jacksonville, sure that is where they would send him being that it was first on our list. Wrong. NAS Whiting Field was the winner. So, the girls and I packed and moved again. We closed on our house in April of 2007 and Marcus arrived in May along with our household goods. Marcus is a flight instructor now. He is training student pilots on fixed wing rather than helos, which he had flown for 17 years. Luke arrived in August of 2007. One month early. Never thought I would be back in the area, but here we are for now. Marcus is two years from retirement. I went back to work in Jacksonville after losing our third baby to keep myself busy. I was lucky to land a regional management job where I can work from home. No time clocks. Just have gone back to work now that Luke is older. Still doing the same thing and loving it.
