Heather's Story
Life
Bio's... well, what do people really want to know when they look at another person's profile? When I look at someone's profile a few things pop into mind (I've answered my own questions, in case you wanted to know the answers):
Q: Did I know this person, the name sounds familiar?
A: I suggest consulting your yearbook to see whether I signed it or if the my picture looks familiar.
Q:What's their deal: Single? Married? Divorced?
A: Got close more than once, but I'm single (and happy about it) Anyone who thinks single people are only trying to get married or are unfulfilled by being 'alone' are insane and insecure. But hell, aren't most people? :)
Q: Got kids?
A: Do the ones I work with count? Well, then no. Someday (and god help me... or them. Guess only time will tell)
Q: Own a House?
A: No, I prefer to travel instead. But I've had quite a few awesome roomates in the past couple of years! (luv you JLV & CRM!)
Q: Have a Career?
A: Ofcourse! And one that I love, by the way. I'm a Supervisor in a Community Services Department. And someday soon... a Foriegn Service Officer.
Q: Other 'stuff' that signifies 'growing up'?
A: Depends on your perception of growing up, and in most cases the answer is no. I party, spend money on things that make me happy (like shoes and traveling). But I do have a retirement plan... so does that count? I also have goals.. short term (like get back into cycling racing & learning German) and long term (like buying a home in Ireland and writing a book).
Other (interesting) stuff...
I volunteer with Kiwanis International, & am an afterschool advocate and trainer with the California School Age Consortium. In my free time I travel... both inland and abroa...Expand for more
d..I've been lucky to spend two different summers backpacking through Europe ('02 and '05) and have (to date) visited a total of 14 countries. I have another 5 week trip planned to parts of Eastern Europe in April '06. And am planning on moving abroad at the beginning of '07 (maybe sooner). If you've never been out of the country... do it!
Hummm... what else? Well there's a lot, so I guess if you're really interested, you can shoot me an email or ask at the reunion! Bored and want to see more random stuff about me (because I rock!)? Check out my profile on MySpace: look up myspace (dot) com (backslash) roadhottie.
Holy shit, can you believe it's been 10 years already. Crazy. See you all at the Queen Mary (AKA Prom '05). haha
Cheers!

College
My college experience was great... even at Cal Poly (the commuter school)! :) I got really involved on campus... in ASI, as an elected Senator & served on the programming committee, I pledged Kappa Delta Sorority (where I met some of my best friends! AOT), was President of Panhellenic Council, and raced in the WCCC (Western Collegiate Cycling Conference) managing the Cal Poly team for 3 years and representing the team at Nationals in 2000. Oh yeah, and when I wasn't doing one of these, I majored in Political Science.
Now, I'm at the University of LaVerne furthering my education in Public Administration.
Workplace
I was once explaining what I do to an old high school friend and he said, oh... it's kinda like leadership, only you get paid. And I guess that's true! What I really do is work for the City of Chino as a Community Services Supervisor, in charge of all city-wide special events and school based programming. It's fun and I love it!
