Heather's Story
Life
After high school, I spent a couple of years at BGSU and served as a national council member for Alpha Lambda Delta. The summer before junior year I borrowed a car and started driving. I ended up in Orlando Florida, where I eventually moved in next door to the man I married. Long story short, I transferred to University of Central Florida, where I attended full time while working full time at Walt Disney World, primarily in entertainment - using time between shows to study. Todd and I had Allison on 01/01/01 - the 10th baby of the year. I left Disney during the big layoff in 2001. I was trying to go back to Disney and Todd was interviewing for airline pilot jobs when 9/11 hit. I worked my way through the ranks at a Kodak...Expand for more
subsidiary and ran digital photography operations at Magic Kingdom. Lauren was born 10/7/03. Todd was hired by SkyWest airline - a commuter for Delta and United on the west coast, so we moved to Denver. We divorced after 11 years of wedded less-than-bliss and now I am staying here and working as the senior sales manager for the Colorado Convention Center here in downtown Denver.
School
It's hard to really put words to something that was so busy and so crazy. I know that I did a lot, but I guess it's just all the time/distance away that makes me start to think about the would've/could'ves. Whitmer was just teen angst, BGSU was disappointing, and UCF was hectic. I did learn a lot about myself, and never enough about others.
