Heidi's Story
I am a single parent of an amazing young man named Michael. He is 11 and is my inspiration. This past year has been difficult for the both of us. He was diagnosed with (severe) Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis in October 2007 and the arthritis damaged both of his eyes. He had both eyes operated on in July 2008 and will probably need at least 1 more surgery. He takes a ton of medications nightly and I give him 2 shots weekly for the arthritis. I must say that he is an amazing young man! He handles everything extremely well and is much stronger than I am. I admire him for all that he has gone through and will go through at such a young age.
