UPDATE 6/22/09 HAPPY NEWS: After reconnecting with Joe Layton (EHS CLASS OF 1975) last August through classmates.com we began dating and became engaged last Christmas. We hope to be married before the end of the year. Joe is the kindest person I've have ever met and I am lucky to have him as my best friend. I have never been happier!! ORIGINAL POST: I was always a bit of a free spirit and my goal in life was to have fun....and I did. After a brief stint in college, where I majored in playing cards in the student union, bowling, keggers, etc., I left academia and went to work as a Youth Guidance Specialist at a State Group Home. While working there, I started moonlighting as a bartender and found out I could make more money bartending (plus it was more fun), so I did it full-time for a few years. I moved several times (Connecticut, Tulsa, OKC) and always came back to Lawton to be near family. I battled cancer in my 20's and I got married. I am happy to say I survived both, although I am now divorced. After that I worked at JP's Liquor Store in Lawton for 13 years.....now that was fun.
