Heidi's Story
Life
After high school I went to Glendale Community College for 2 years. I played tennis for one year. I continued to be involved in FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) and got involved with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship. I found direction in my career when I taught at a preschool for the 2 years I attended GCC.
I continued my education at NAU where I majored in Elementary Education. I met my husband in FCA at NAU. We were married in June of 1990 and decided to stay in Flagstaff as we both loved it.
Hired on in the Flagstaff Public Schools I taught a 3rd/5th combination class for one year and middle school for 8 years. Teaching was great, but being a parent was unexpected thrill. I quit teaching after having our first daughter, Rebekah, to stay at home and take care of my family. One of the best decisions I ever made. We had our son, Tytus, and another daughter, Cassandra; now our family is complete. Certified ...Expand for more
in Bradley Natural Childbirth, I also teach expecting couples from my home. I enjoy the outdoors and have rock climbed, hiked, skied, mountain biked, camped, fished and geo-cached over the years. I now homeschool our oldest and any extra time is spent working on our new home on 2 ý acres bordering forest service.
We have three Labs, (Bubba, Katie, & Shadow), 21 chickens, (can't keep track of names), and two fire belly toads, (Dora & Diego).
We recently bought new off-road motorcycles and enjoy riding on the mountain trails behind our home.
Life has not been an easy road. At times, situations have seemed impossible and I have wanted to give up, but with God all things are possible. In God I have found strength to persevere through the tough times and enjoy the good. I give God the glory for my life; the trials, the scars and the blessings. I am very grateful for my family, friends and the privilege to be a mom.
