Helen's Story
After graduating Holy Innocents, I went to Erasmus Hall High School. That was somewhat of an experience since I really didn't know what I wanted to do with my life. All I knew is that I needed to work after graduating to help my parents out financially. After my high school graduation, I landed a job in the city doing clerical work. That turned out to be boring so I figured I would try the medical field. stayed for a year and then got a job in Brooklyn for a gastroenterologist whom I stayed with for 15 years. He since retired and being tired of the medical field, took a break, and went into the business world for 8 years. During that time, I went back to school for ultrasound and graduated in Jan 2008. I now work as a echosonographer for a huge cardiology practice on Long Island where I now reside. Do I like it? It's alright. For some reason, I still don't feel settled in what I want to do. If I could do my time in school over again I would and would have found a way to attend college.
