Life Hello, Marianna High friends. It's a long way from 1965 to 2003; and it's a long way from Marianna FL to Castle Rock, Colorado, but here I am in this beautiful, little town in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. I moved here about 15 years ago; I love Colorado but I've never gotten over my longing for "all good things back home." Before I came here, I was a single mom raising a beautiful daughter, Jennifer, now 28 years old. She has given me two beautiful granddaughters. (I feel like I'm in a time warp -- remembering high school and talking about being a grandmother at the same time -- weird). I worked for the State of Florida for nearly 20 years; the legislature for about 13 of those years, first as a secretary and eventually becoming a legislative analyst. When I came to Colorado, my daughter was just 14 and we had quite an adjustment to make; everything from higher altitudes to snow. I've also done professional writing and have had my own business as an editor/proofreader. I've become an accomplished cook; can do gormet, but good old homestyle is still my favorite. I married a wonderful man, a retired game warden, 10 years ago, and we have a wonderful life. It took many years and a lot of miles to find him. He's a wonderful husband, father and grandpa. He's a published author (he wrote two books on fishing in Colorado -- now out of print). My granddaughters are 7 and 3; their names are Sadie and Juliet. They are sweet and beautiful, smart and talented. I'm a housewife now and love it. I'm close to my daughter and her children. We ...Expand for more
