Helen's Story
I changed my name from Helen to Abbey and now go by Abbey H.K. Silva. I married right out of high school to a 1950 graduate Donald Jonas. We are no longer married but are neighbors in Napa, California. We have two sons, Dan and Dick.
I have just finished writing my first book (about my daughter Joy Elizabeth, a Down's Syndrome baby) entitled "She Came To Heal". I am in the process of having it self published. Am working on my own biography now am up to chapter 17, and this will be entitled "From My Side of The Crib".
I have been a spiritual seeker most of my adult life, and great growth and healing has resulted from my searching.
I love to dance, and go dancing once or twice a month at the senior center, my last husband and I danced every week.

plane, train or car, and just finished a 2,282 mile car trip throughout California and Arizona. I drove to South Dakota for my 55th class reunion, and plan to drive to Kansas in August to preside at my grand daughter's wedding. With my GPS and a dummy I made named "George" in the passenger seat I travel. Travel and change are adventures to me.
My two son's at the present both live in Napa, however my oldest son may be moving out of state if his job requires it soon. My daughter is deceased.
I did not enjoy high school as much as I would have liked to, partly because I was two years older than most of my classmates due to childhood illness, and partly because of family situations at the time. I do remember fond times with friends from both grade school (Jefferson) and high school.
