Henry's Story
Life
I was lucky enough to fall into a career that allowed me to retire at a relatively early age, which I did in 2005. I "unretired" for a year 2007/2008 and then "re-retired," this time most probably for good.
I subscribe to Maurice Chevalier's philosophy that growing older isn't so bad when you consider the alternative. So, I try to remain grateful for every day that I am allowed to wake-up.
I have 3 great kids, one law school graduate, and two college students.
I have remained in SoCal, and am married.
I would say that I have had no more than my share of heartbreaks and disappointments in life, and that I have had significantly more than my share of blessings.
If you're reading this, you apparently have some interest in me. That being the case, I hope that you are well and happy, and if you are so inclined, please write a quick e-note.

ears.
I then changed major to Social Ecology (an interdisciplinary applied social science program), and majored in mental health.
While in college I worked a variety of summer jobs, and several during the school year.
After earning my BA, I went to work and did not seriously go back to school until 1990, when I entered an intensive format grad school program through Cal Poly Pomona's Grad School of Management. I finished that in 1993 with a Masters' Degree in Leadership & Strategic Planning.
Workplace
I spent my career, by chance, as a police officer, never having thought about it when I was young. I started shortly after graduating from college (May 1976), and found it to be a very rewarding, satisfying and challenging career.
It was never boring, and seldom repetitious.
I worked in five different police departments, and was fortunate enough to promote through the ranks, spending my last 16 years as a police chief.
