More about Herb:"Education-wise, I chose Exercise Science; but it was my minor in Nutrition that showed me how people could REALLY change. But it wasn't the RDs that I learned the most from, it was the ExSc profs who were WAY more advanced (and actually fit - unlike the RDs who were all soft or even fat).

n coached a handful Olympic qualifiers and athletes into the mid to late 90s.
My internship had a nutrition focus for eating disordered population (performing arts - dancers and other stage performers) where I learned the MOST about the psychology of food for people (which is HUGE now). After the athletes, I went back into the 1 on 1 and group training. During this phase I connected with doctors, chiropractors and physical therapists because I noticed how many people were "dysfunctional" due to bad posture, immune deficiencies, and disease so I became big into post rehab (cardiac as well as injury). That served me well with injury and illness prevention even now.
I ebbed back from 1 on 1 and started training and certifying PTs mid 2000 and also got into training and prepping competitors. This is where I fine-tuned my body type dieting and training. So, after typing all that out and reflect "what I do" - I solve physical and physiological challenges from illness to athlete.
How does this help you? If you look, I never stayed with only 1 path. I took the "Bruce Lee approach" to health. I find the best info for the worst or best conditions, learn how to help that population, them devise a way to apply to the general population.".
