Herman's Story

After graduation, I spent a few months working at Slater Mill. In November of 1967, I was drafted and spent the majority of my time stationed in Germany. Upon my discharge, I returned to SC and went to work for Piedmont Natural Gas Company. I worked for Piedmont in various capacities for over 39 years and retired from the company in September of 2009. I have since occupied my time traveling with my wife, Peggy. I also continue to pursue my passion for hunting and fishing. I have a second home in McCormick, SC which is near the shores of beautiful Clark's Hill Reservoir and I spend a good deal of my time there. Peggy was a tea...Expand for more
cher for the Greenville County School District until her retirement and is currently heavily involved in the Upper South Carolina Basketmakers Guild. The Baskemakers Guild had a website you can visit if you are interested in seeing an example of her art or would like to visit one of their functions. Classmates won't let me post a link to the website but, if you Google Upper South Carolina Basketmakers Guild, it will be the first website displayed. Peggy and I have one daughter, Becky. Becky and husband Earl live in Tampa, Florida and have no plans to move to anywhere the nights get cold enough to leave frost on the ground.
