Hi there,
I still live in Ottawa not far from Elmvale Acres; I was married in 1975 and separated in 1996 -- finally got around to getting a divorce this year. I have one married daughter who is living and teaching in Toronto. In November of last year, I became a grandmother for the first time and it is a wonderful experience, I just can't spend enough time with my grand-daughter, so needless to say, there have been many trips to Toronto.
I have been on my own for quite some time now, but have been busy over the years with work, volunteering with Little League baseball, family and friends. I plan on retiring at the end of May 2008 (finally I picked a date) no matter how much we look forward to retirement, it is definitely a journey into the 'unknown' especially after being part of the workforce for nearly 38 years..... ...Expand for more
I've run into former classmates over the years, but surprisely, not as many as one would think. I've gone to most of the Hillcrest reunions, even the mini-reunion a couple of years ago at the RA Centre, it was fun to see so many familiar faces and to talk to friends from the past...there's this connection that never goes away, no matter how old we get. Just recently I reconnected with a 'best friend' from Vincent Massey days (Lesley Brown). We have been emailing and hopefully we will get a chance to meet face to face soon. I still see and am friends with a few people from Hillcrest. I'm looking forward to the 50th Hillcrest Reunion in 2011. I offered to help organize, but it's still early.
