Ledy's Story
School
My four years at Belmont were very memorable. I joined many clubs. In my junior and senior year, I was in drill team. In my senior year, I was in the senior cabinet. I got the chance to help come up with ideas on what activities to do for our last year.
I did not worry about being popular or being accepted by others. I was happy with being involved with school. I had no time to think, I was always doing something during my free time. I was either doing drill team practices or taking math tests on Saturday mornings for the fun of competing.
I had many wonderful and caring teachers who made me the great person I am today. Some of my classmates even thought I was the teacherÂs pet because of how much fun I had at school. I loved school and challenging myself to learn more and more.
I had to try harder at everything since English was my second language. I was bor...Expand for more
n in a small town in Santa Ana, El Salvador. When my family moved here in 1979, I did not know any words in English. Everything was foreign and new. I went from living in a town of 100 people to a big city like a Los Angeles. I was very shy and but made many friends.
When I look back at my high school years, I remember the fun of being in school. I learned so much and will always remember ÂMemories Last ForeverÂ.
College
Higher education was difficult to say the least but I enjoyed the four years I attended CSULA. I did not complete my degree in my early years, but I have learned that it is never to reach your goals and dreams. I finally finished my Bachelor's degree in Accounting at UOP.
Workplace
Most of my jobs have been in accounting except for the time I worked as a cashier and a long distance telephone operator. Too many stories to say about being an operator.
