Beverly's Story

Life I married an Airman from Willie and went to Japan for 3 years, then returned to Willie for about a year, moved to Texas and have spent most of my life in Texas and Oklahoma. I have 3 sons living and one deceased. I have been blessed with 12 grand children and 8 great grand children. I remarried in 1982 to an adrenaline junkie who tracks storms for *recreation* for a TV station in Oklahoma City! I have gone chasing with him quite a few times but it's not really my cup of tea! My husband is well known around OK City because of his Storm Tracking and has had some of his video shown on the Weather Channel,Discover and The Learning Channel. In 2001 we moved to Arizona but returned to OK. after 2 years when he was laid off from his job for Maricopa county. We now live in the country outside Oklahoma City and I love it,but I miss the mountains and desert in Arizona. Also, all my family lives in Arizona. We recently moved to a small town in Northern Oklahoma and opened a small grill, business is picking up and it looks like we are going to be successful. The town is very small and my husband wears many faces, he is director of emergency management, police chief and volunteer firefighter. I, on the other hand flip burgers eight hours a day,and meet some very interesting people. I love living here the air is fresh and free of pollutants, it's actually 20 miles to the nearest Interstate. Adding a note ...we now live in Casa Grande AZ, I love it here of course. My husband works on the reservation for the Police department. He is in communications. School To be truth...Expand for more
ful I didn't finish High School, so most of my memories are of East Mesa Jr.High.... We got to have a Jukebox in the cafeteria one year, but we lost it, because we would all join in when Elvis' All Shook Up played. That year, we had to have split sessions because of over crowding, and I was in school before daylight and at home again by 1:pm.(loved that!) I loved the little Spanish American eatery across the street and spent most of my lunch money there and ate chips and pop the rest of the week. My favorite Teacher there was Mr. Cummings my math teacher, the poor man was a Saint, and worked hard with me thru 7th and 8th grades so I could pass math and go on to High School. I spent the 3rd grade in a class room in Rendezvous Park because of crowding at my school also. Any one else go to that class? I remember Leona Drabaugh(sp) being in that class, our teacher was Mrs. Shipley.... she bet me an ice cream cone that my penmanship would improve in time. She owes me an ice cream! :^) Added Oct.30,2011 Just want to add that I know have 20 great Grand Children and two more(boys) on the way. Some day I'll find the time to post all their pictures here. March 7,2013 UPDATE....I now have 25 great grand children and one on the way..... The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Claudia Lorillard, because We were close friends and I have lost touch with her.. If I won $100 million, I'd give a lot of it to my family, then spend the rest on a home, a plane and fly them all to AZ. In 10 years, I hope to be Alive, HE HE, I'm going to get there by breathing!.
