Lee's Story

Life So, let's begin.. :) I tried to go straight to college.....that lasted less that 1 semester. I was just too, too curious and anxious to get out into the world. SO I DID! I bounced around Southern and Central CA. for 6 years. I even wnet to Seattle for awhile but that didn't work the first time. I worked for TRW, various Imported Car Parts Wholesalers, Summer Camps and Rec Centers as a Lifeguard. It was fun.....however ;) In the summer of 1984 I moved to Seattle to go to school (Finally). Some of you may remember that in Jr. year I had decided that I wanted to be Minister. Well it happened, 5 years of school, and a marriage later I graduated from ministerial school. We moved to Sun Valley, ID to take over a small ministry. What a great place to live. If you like to ski and ou have not been there yet, it is worth every penny. My son Joshua was born there in Sept. of '90. In Jan. of 91 we moved to Peoria, AZ near PHX to serve a ministry there. It was a great 3 1/2 years but an opportunity arose to move to a much larger church and move back to So Cal. So in fall of 94 we moved to Seal Beach. Everything went pretty well for awhile. Got involved in the community, and the church started growing. Along with all this I was recruited to involvement on the Int'l Board of Trustees for the Church. I was the Chairman of Youth and Family Ministries already, so it was a natural. My responsibilities expanded and along with them o did the pressure and in '98 I left the ministry. A divorce ensued in the next year. Needless to say it was a very challenging time. I went to work for a small Fireplace company and was able to help the owner grow it from a asmall home based operation to large retail operation and Consruction Company. I returned to the ministry part time in a Church in Burban...Expand for more
k after a couple of years, teaching classes, doing Youth Retreats, and filling in on Sundays from time to time. I met my current wife , Kelli, there. After a few years me moved to the Kansas City area to be closer to both of our families. Joshua's mother has suffered a severe head injury at work in 2000 and after a year or so it was clear that she needed to move closer to her family in Seattle. So she and Joshua moved ther in the Summer of '03. Shortly after, Kelli and I moved to KC. The transition to KC was not as easy as expected, but when are such changes. Kelli had gotten a job offer from Banfield the Pet Hospital, the largest privately held Veterinary Practice in the world. Now over 700 locations in the US. I ended up working for them as well managing on of the locations for a year and half, then moving into New Openings, and now handling Openings and Maint. for the Dallas / Fort Worth market. So there is the thumbnal sketch of nearly 30 years at the time of this writing. There has been alot of fun and adventure along the way. Laughter, sorrow, joy and pain, all are part of the journey we call life. Even though it is tempting to I do not regret to path to where I am now. Life has been pretty good to me. My son is now 18 and a Senior, My fiancee' will be graduating from Nursing school in 18 months, I have 2 dogs and 5 cats, a fine new career with a growing company.....all in all things are looking up...... Blessings to All Lee Update: 9/25/08 Got married this past June. Kelli is still in KCMO until next year when she graduates from Nursing School. Her mother was diagnosed with cancer last fall and is still hanging in there. So we will see what happens when she graduates. I have returned to the ministry part - time in Irving TX.
