Life I am in my dream job teaching art.I have lived in Houston for 24 years. I have been married for 23 years with two sons, three grandchildren, and two cats. I started dealing antiques several years ago and opened up a small shop. I am very involved with my church and spend most of my summers on mission trips. My youngest son is a junior studying economics at the University of Texas, Hook-Em-Horns. Did I mention I am very happy and at peace, life has been good to me but it just threw me a curve ball. In September of '06 I was diagnosed with Leukemia. In August of '08 I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Mantle Cell Lymphoma. My world had been rocked. I under went 8 months of a very intensive and toxic chemo at MD Anderson in Houston. 24 hour drips for 6 days. Awful. I have had 6 bone marrow biopsys OUCH!, over 100 shots, 8 CT scans, 10 blood transfusions, 6 platelet transfusions, 1 blood clot, 140 blood draws, 30 days of crippling bone pain and many side effects to horrible to mention. During that time I was isolated, I could not leave my home except to go to the hospital and I could not have anyone inside my home except my wonderful husband and son.
