Holly's Story

THOUGHTS ON MY CURRENT PASSIONS: PHOTOGRAPY, MODELING AND STYLIZING I've always been interested in the beauty of photography in capturing light, color and the transformation of life. As an avid organic gardener, I started capturing elements of my garden by taking macros of flowers, pistils, details of climbing flower tendrils... studying the beautiful forms that nature takes on its process through life, decay, death and rebirth. I love seeing the various aspects of myself revealed through photography and enjoy revealing the many facets of other people through using make-up, props, wardrobe and my photography. Now I study the life, decay, and rebirth cycle in people and nature, especially through photographing the beauty of a woman. Rebirth is my greatest interest as we have all experienced small deaths and loss, but how we re-create ourselves is the greatest power of our personal expression. SOUL SEARCHING I have been through some tragic personal experiences, as most of us have, that have caused me to look life and death deeply in the eyes and make my choice. The soul searching that unfolded from these experiences motivates me to study the dynamic forms of nature: the movement of water, effects of wind, the power of a small bud to blossom into a vanilla-cream fragrant gardenia and the strength of a human to conquer adversity with head held high and eyes sparkling with life. TRANSFORMATION With my modeling, stylizing and photography I want to look into the depths of the eyes of my subjects and myself and discover, through the photos, what fears we have overcome, what motivates us to live, what inspires us to create and what our deepest desir...Expand for more
es are. The bottom line is: what is our transformation process? How have we overcome? INTERESTS/EDUCATION My other interests include competitive ballroom and Latin dancing, Pilates, quantum physics, designing jewelry, organic gardening and fashion. I have had an excellent education that included studying at The Sorbonne (University of Paris), University of Nice (France), Cambridge University (UK), University of New Hampshire and graduating with honors with a BA from Rutgers College, Rutgers University. TRAVEL I have traveled extensively, including to India, Nepal, Thailand, Laos, Turkey, Peru, Greece, Bolivia, France, England, Scotland, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, the Bahamas, various islands, Canada and Mexico. Aside from France and England, I have lived in New Jersey, Philadelphia, New York, Connecticut, North Carolina (Asheville), Atlanta, California (Santa Cruz) and Maui. I¿ve studied various spiritual disciplines, but am not attached to any religion or particular discipline. MENTORS My tendency is to be rebellious against authority; however, through the discipline of ballroom and Latin dancing, and through working as a model with photographers, such as my muse, Bryan Treiber (BPhotographic), I have finally learned to take direction without being so frickin defensive! Criticism? Bring it on! My Russian dance teacher, Pavel Cherdantsau, and his wife, Svetlana Rudkovskaya, have been two of my greatest teachers as has Bryan. My photography and modeling have also been greatly influenced by photographers Jefferey Scott, Dan Tibbets of PhotoHighlights, Michael Rosen and the guy who got me into all this, Larry Monteith.
