Alicia's Story
Life
After high school I went to college at Colgate, but transferred to Rutgers after 3 semesters. Jeff was already at Rutgers, and we moved in together, got engaged, and then got married right after graduation. We moved to North Carolina so I could go to grad school at Duke in immunology. I quit grad school with my master's (instead of PhD), but still work in the same lab (I just get paid for it now!). Jeff works next door at Duke, which ...Expand for more
is really convenient and we get to carpool together about half of the time.
In May 2006, after much trying, we finally had our baby girl, Cadence. She is the light of my life! She also gets along well with our 2 dogs, Scooter and Clayton. Since becoming a mommy, I am very involved in parenting activities, especially those relating to "attachment parenting", which includes things like extended breastfeeding, babywearing, and co-sleeping.
