Ed Homenick:

CLASS OF 1979
Monticello, NY

Ed's Story

Life I Went to Paul Smith's College located in Paul Smith's NY four years after high school. Bummed around a lot until 1987 when God revealed Jesus Christ to me and forgave me my innumerable sins. That year, I had planned to ride my bicycle across country. I ended up going solo and made it to Missoula Montana. I did the same again in 1993, heading out to Tuscon Arizona. One of the most memorable experiences that I have had. Sure love that bicycle. I ended up travelling to a few places to share the gospel of Christ, mostly by the printed page, tracts. I was able to go to India four times, Ecuador, Russia, Kazakhstan, Canada, and a few odd locations in Europe and the Middle East on layovers. I have mostly lived right here in Sullivan County, but have also lived for a while in the Adirondacks (my favorite place) and arctic Alaska in a small Eskimo Village called Ambler. That too, was quite the experience. I never cared to get a serious job, always happy to travel around. I spent many weeks in my van camping and hiking. Hiking is my real passion, having hiked...Expand for more
many hundred mountains in NY, New England, and other places in the US. I try to go once a month. Winter hiking is my favorite. In 1998 I got married. My wifes name is Heather and we have (so far) three children, Tabitha Renee, Ruth Rahab, and Titus John. Their ages are currently 5,3, and 1. Keeps us busy. Out of necessity, got a real job and am employed by the County of Sullivan in the Tax Map Department in the government center in Monticello. Just bought a house and moved to Hortonville. Glad to be in the western part of the county. My other passions besides hiking and bicycling are running (some racing) and playing chess. Anyone want to play a game, contact me! Seriously, the only real thing that matters is that my sins have been forgiven. I have hoped in the grace of God in Christ Jesus, and in his word only. My works will only damn me, but Christ's work is my glory. Have you ever spent time in his word to consider your sin, and his saving grace? Psalm 119:59...I thought about my ways, and turned my feet to your testimonies. This is my testimony.
