Hope's Story
Life
I have two beautiful little boys. And an outstanding husband.
When I graduated school, I was in a few bad relationships. When I got back up to North Dakota, where I was originally from, I met someone and, unfortunately, married him when I finished AF basic training. Thank goodness, when I got station in South Korea I was able to get lawyers to file for divorce. My divorce was final in Mar 2002. The following month I started to date my now husband. We had met in Jan 2002 when in AF weather forecasting school. We started to date once my divorce was final. We married in October 2002. We were thinking about getting married eventually, but when his parents were planning a trip to Vegas and invited both of us, we took up the opportuniy. We got married in one of their little chapels. It was too cool, AND CHEAP! LOL We were stationed at two different bases, me in California and he in Utah. It took a year of him having to be on station to get orders to be at my base. Then about 6 months after he finally got to Cali, I got orders for a 4 month deployment out to the United Arab Emirates. After a few months back home, I got pregnant and got out when I was 7 months along in my pregnancy. And then once ...Expand for more
we got out here to Fort Hood, Texas, I got pregnant again with our second son. My husband deployed shortly after I became pregnant, but since he is AF he only deploys for no more than 6 months at a time. He was back 2 weeks before our baby made his debut.
Right now I have to decided to be a stay at home mom, doing daycare, selling AVON, and trying to get a Bachelors degree online. So, my schedule has gotten really busy these days.
Military
I joined the Air Force in 1998. My job was being a weather forecaster. Yep...I was a meteorologist. And I had an oustanding career for 6 wonderful years. I have been stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Kunsan AB, ROK (South Korea); Keesler AFB, Mississippi; Beale AFB, California; deployed to the UAE (United Arab Emirates) it is located at the southern tip of the Persian Gulf. I met my husband while we were down at forecasting school in Mississippi. He got stationed in Utah and I in California. Was married for a year before he got orders to my base. I got out when I was 7 months pregnant with our first son. My husband is currently still serving and we are now down here in good 'ol Texas at Fort Hood. And he is still providing weather support to the Army.
