Hope's Story
Life
WOW! Where do the years go? 20 years ago at this time I was wondering if I was going to the prom... now I'm saving for my kids' college education. I'm a writer and community activist. I'm married (2nd time) with 2 kids. Still playing sports - altho arthritis at an early age has slowed me down - plus 2 back and 2 shoulder surgeries. OUCH! Yet, I continue to play aggressive sports and I power lift. I also coach my daughter's community league basketball team as well as my son's soccer team. Busy, busy... always busy!
I would love to reconnect with people I knew from school.
School
I graduated in 1985. I would love to hear from people from my class, as well as those I played sports with and friends who moved away (esp. Elena Omard, Chris Condon and Eric Stiles).
High school was the best time of my life - carefree and fun! I wouldn't change a thing!
College
I went to East Stroudsburg University right...Expand for more
out of high school for PE. I decided it wasn't for me so I took a break, checked out the world and eventually came back to ESU to graduate with a degree in English and Women's Studies.
I use both of my degrees today.
Workplace
I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up! I have spent the last 20 years searching for the perfect career and having a lot of fun along the way!
I have worked in the women's movement, as a community activist, in the non-profit sector, as a disc jockey, in television and in print media. I have even worked on the docks of Roadway loading trucks!
Currently I run a community newspaper. I am the eyes, ears and voice of my community. I also continue to write short stories and am currently working on a series called Life with Connor. I am also writing a history book for the local ambulance corps.
I've pretty much continued to be a free spirit and have no plans to change!
