mona Elementary School in Norwalk and Carmenita Middle School in Cerritos before attending Excelsior High School in 1958. One of my greatest thrills was seeing Coach Robinson at San Jacinto High School in 1980 where he was substituting as a P.E. teacher. He told me he had retired and was living in the San Jacinto/Hemet Valley. At that time we reminisced about past times at Excelsior Union High School and it brought back many memories of events ,and students that I now cherish from my high school experience. He reminded me that "Excelsior" means "Onward and Upward" and he gave me a "pep talk" about staying in public education when I mentioned the possibility of working in private enterprise!!
