Howard's Story

I retired from public education in 2007 after 30 years of service. Over the thirty-year span, I served as a teacher, high school principal, and superintendent in various school systems across Georgia. My last superintendency was located in Thomaston, Georgia, where I currently reside with my wife, Sharon Hewitt Hendley (DHS Class of 19...Expand for more
73). I presently commute to Atlanta on a daily basis where I am employed as the Policy Director for the Georgia Department of Education. Sharon and I have been married for thirty-nine years, and we have two children, Elizabeth Hendley Ott and Holden. We have three grandchildren, Colleen, age 6, and the twins Emily and Cassidy, age 4.
