Hugh's Story

and the summer she goes... Update 071609 Was in Manteca recently and ran into one Bruce Goodman. Didnt recognize him, until he smiled. Boy 25 years does a number on ones memory! Ran across Kevin Cimoli's pic on classmates too. Kevin, if you are reading this, make sure to email me. I left my email(spelled backwards) on your site. Else, all is good. Family lief is the best life. Life Update 042809 2 1/2 months since last update? I'm improving! The biggest news in my life is the bad news in my life. The daughter of a very close friend passed away unexpectedly last week. So very sad and painful. Don't want to spend too much time writing about htat or this will sound too much like a diary. Else, all is well! Enjoying springtime in the house and working on the yard. Job could be better, but it pays the bills. Won my fraternity golf tournament in San Luis Obispo earlier in the month, so that's one goal i can check off the list! Update 021509 Almost 8 months since last update, so I'm due for a new one I suppose. Not much and so much has changed since August. My little girl Sofie is getting ready to walk - could happen today! - and Vinny is the best son a man could possible hope for! Sheri and I are really proud and happy to be raising such a beautiful family. I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of the spring and the warmer weather, although today's wintery weather is fitting in very nicely with this warm cup of coffee I'm enjoying... This year marks 25 years since high school, and it seemslike 100. I was in Manteca yesterday, and truth be told, I don't miss it one iota. Although I wouldn't mind running into someold friends at some point and comparing notes... all good things, hugh Update 062808 8 months since my last update? How can that be? Not surprising, I suppose, since time just continues to accelerate, even more so since the birth of my precious daughter Sofia Adeline last December 17! She is a wonderful and beautiful gift from God, and Sheri and I are so happy, as is Vinny! She is a happy little girl who seldomly cries, but chooses instead to look and observe, and now that hse has discovered her voice, to make sounds and "talk"! Sheri an dI spent the last week in Chicago on a MUCH needed vacation. What a cool town. Enjoyed the visit very much, and even attended a game at Wrigley Field - a long outstanding goal that was finally realized. Glad to be back home now, and yes, working on the honey-do list. Treated myself to a roung of golf at a very nice course yesterday and actually hit the ball pretty well (with a few not-so-well hits mixed in, of course!). Looking forward to improving. Vinny continues to amaze me. Just when I am accustomed to him and the stage at which he is, he changes! Sheri and I are really enjoying watching him grow up and watching his personality unfold. My guess is he is going t...Expand for more
o be an engineer or perhpas an architect, as he is becoming more interested in building thngs and desiging machines of all kinds. (But i hope that he carries more of my wife's traits than he does mine!). I'm due ofr a Manteca trip, but first I need to complete this fence I am working on, or Sheri will have my head. Having said that, I'm signing off for now, but iwll definitely add more before another 8 months elapses! Update 101607 Hmmm.. 5 1/2 monhts since last update? Not too bad, consdiering it took me 2 years last time! Amazing how time goes by so quickly, but so little seems to change. Except this time. Since I last updated, Sheri and I have been incredibly blessed with the news that we will have a little girl joining the Graciano clan in December. Yes! We are so excited! Vin continues to be the best little boy a man could ever ask for. Lots of fun, lots of laffs, lots of life! See photo of Vin and his friend mr. dino. Update 050107 Wow - 2 years goes by very quickly! It has been almost that long since I last updated my profile. Not much to share that wouldn’t be better suited in a diary. I was in Manteca recently working on a rental property, when someone doing some work for me turned out to be an acquaintance of one Casey Tinnin. Small world. So I called Casey, and we were going to get together, but things, as they do, got busy and I have yet to close that loop. That was in March. Story of my life, I have lost more friends over the years that way. Still working for Genentech – Thursday will mark 3 years(!). The rest of my life is joyously spent with my wife Sheri, my little boy Vinny, and my two black labs, Baci and Bella. If you are ever in Sacramento, stop by and I will throw some steaks on the grill and open up a nice cab or two… 080805 Well well well. You are either very bored or very curious. Much too much to type in one sitting, so i'll return later and augment this. After a stint at delta juco, I graduated magna cum laude from Cal Poly-SLO with my bsme, then my masters from ucsb. Today, I'm a project manager/engineer in the bio-med field. A big change for me, as my background was in power and petroleum. I return to manteca about 1x/month, which is just about right. After bouncing around the coast for 10 years, i finally settled in sacramento, which is where i am now. I enjoy working on my house (90 year old Victorian, which is pretty demanding), woodwork, a good book, and golf. A beer now and then is always good too, although i am becoming increasingly partial to a good cabernet with a great steak, good music, and good friends to share it with. The highlite of my last 20 years is the birth of my little boy, Vinny, who is an absolute joy to behold! If you didnt know me in 1984, or even if you did, you may not recognize me now. So much has changed, all for the better. More later...
