Ingrid's Story

Hi Everyone, Wow a lot of time has passed. Well, let's get to the facts...ok? Married...4 times Richard Garland 1971-1972 Normand Dumas 1972-1977 Tyrone Harris 1978-1979 1980 my son Adam was born in Wiesbaden, Germany David Doyon 1983-present David adopted Adam in 1983 2 biological children Tiffany 1983 Benjamin 1984 I spent 7 1/2 years in the U.S. Army 1972-1974 & 1978-1983. I spent 1978-1981 overseas with the military in Wiesbaden, Germany. I had Adam in the US Air Force Wiesbaden Germany Hospital. This hospital was where they debriefed the hostages back in 1981. I was transferred back to Fort Devens, MA in 1981. I met David while in Concord for my parent's anniversary back in 1982, when Take 5 was open. It was the first time he or I had been there. Go figure that I would live on the other side of the world and find my "true" husband in my own "backyard." After getting married in May of 1983,David and I lived in Allenstown, NH. We then bought a house is Boscawen in 1984. We sold that house in 1985 so David could take a job transfer to NY. Upon selling the house in Boscawen, we bought a house in Fort Edward, NY, and lived there from 1984-1988. We then sold the house to pull the equity so David could go back to school and get his Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Psychology and Human Services respectively. After the completion of his degrees and subsequent work establishment, we built a house in 1997 in Saratoga Springs and have resided there since. In 2007, David and I started an addition on our home. We added a 20'x20' greatroom with a cathedral tongue n' groove ceiling with exposed beams. We built a fireplace that is the focal point of the room. David and I did the electrical, (to include surround sound), insulating, drywall, spackling, sanding, priming, painting, staining woodwork a dark brown, staining tongue 'n groove ceiling a honey color. Needless-to-say, we have spent the last year living in dust. T...Expand for more
his summer we added an inground pool. With the backyard looking like we are testing bombs, we are now the proud owners of a beautiful lagoon shaped pool with diving board and G-force slide. I have one grandson, Noah who is 5, by my older son Adam. He is the love of my life. I can now say, I should have done this Grandma thing before having kids. This is much more fun. My father is alive and well and still living in Concord, NH. He spends most of his time at his beach house in York Beach, ME and I try to get up to Maine at least 4 times a year to see him and my stepmother. One trip, in particular, is to make Thanksgiving dinner for them. My mother passed away last year. She had a stroke in 2006 and came to live with me in NY post rehab. She was mostly dependent on me for everything as she could hardly talk or walk after her stroke. I truly loved having her here regardless of the circumstances. I was gifted with the opportunity to really show my mother just how much I have loved and still love her over all our years as mother and daughter. She passed away quietly on the 5th of July 2007. I will always think of her on the 4th of July when I see people celebrating. I feel they are rejoicing for her life too. I miss her terribly and wish I could sit and talk to her daily. Her smile meant everything to me. I went to college and completed my Associates Degree in psychology. All the while I was attending college, I was working two jobs, raising three kids (2 of which were pre-school), breeding and selling Labrador puppies, and maintaining a 3.5 gpa. Not bad for a stupid high school student. I have lived by two quotes most of my adult life. I don't know who said them, but here goes... A heart is not measured by how much you love; But by how much you are loved by others. And the second one is... Having a child does not make you a good parent any more than owning a piano makes you a pianist. And life goes on...... Say hi, if you want. I would love to hear from all of you. It has been a long time. Anyone know when is the next class reunion?
