A Sailor Returns from the Sea

Tell me a tale of the boy that is gone.
Say if that boy could be me.
From the mountains of the west
he followed his quest, to sail on the open sea.
Of the world, three times around.
On each continent he did touch ground.
From the North Sea for the northern lights
to the Antarctic with a midnight sun.
Some seas bellowing...Expand for more
over the mast,
and others as smooth as glass.
Though ever vigilant to port and starboard,
all misfortune did not pass.
Shipmates fell, new shipmates came,
the watch bells still rang the same.
He did remain,
and his ship the same.
Tell me a tale of the boy that is gone.
Yes, that boy was me.
Now I return, as a man, after trading my youth
to answer the call of the sea.
